This small community in Kivalina, Alaska will probably be the first American victims of global warming if the sea levels rise any further (which is virtually certain).

Marina Bay Sands hotel, Singapore
How about this for a hotel view, right across the main bay in Singapore.
But is it luxury or opulence?

Solar Panels

These solar panels are covering about 50 hectares of the hills of Les Mees in France.

Phytoplankton

This is a picture of what is in sea water: billions of small plants known as phytoplankton.
These phytoplankton are responsible for producing about half of the oxygen in the atmosphere, and also for reducing the level of carbon dioxide (CO2),
In addition they provide food for tiny marine animals, known as zooplankton, at the start of the food chain.
Global warming is reducing the number of phytoplankton at a fast rate.

The North Pole has melted

Isn’t this meant to be one of the coldest places on earth?
The North Pole is exactly situated in a small pool of water, what does this tell us?
White Christmas
White Knight

Is this a biplane? Not really. A biplane has two sets of wings, not two fuselages.
This is known as White Knight and is the plane that will be used to launch a rocket-plane into space. The passengers will then spend some time experiencing weightlessness before gliding back to the ground, hopefully from the same place that they started.
But this isn’t free. It is a commercial enterprise for paying passengers, and the cost of a ticket is very high. In fact it is so high that only the very wealthy will be able to afford it.
I wonder how much of the earth’s resources will get used by this project?

Greenbird

It’s green. It’s a car. It has no engine. It uses wind-power only.
And it can travel at a speed of more than 200 kph!
Richard Jenkins from the UK designed, built and drove this car, and it just broke the world record speed for a wind-powered car.
