Baby Rhino
There were only 200 Sumatran Rhinos left in the world, now there are 201.
This baby rhino, part of a rhino conservation project, was born a few days ago. No horn yet!

Hanging cloud
After typhoon has passed through there are often some strange weather effects left behind.
This rare hanging cloud was seen close to Mt Fuji, Japan the day after a strong typhoon had passed by.

It has now been overtaken as one of the world’s tallest towers by the Tokyo Sky Tree. But does it really matter? The CN Tower in Toronto, Ontario, Canada still looks good especially with a sunset behind it.
Transit of Venus
This a NASA photo of the planet Venus (which is only slightly smaller than the Earth) as it passes over the sun. If you didn’t see it today then you have to wait another 105 years for your next chance.
The sun is much much further away than Venus, just shows how small the planets are in comparison with the sun.
Buckingham Palace by night
There was a big party in London yesterday because someone had completed 60 years doing the same job. This person lives at Buckingham Palace which is the house at the end of the street under all the fireworks.
Tower Bridge by night
Many visitors to London call this London Bridge, but that is wrong. London Bridge is a very plain bridge a few kilometers upstream.
This is Tower Bridge, and it was recently illuminated with lights evoking the UK’s Union Jack flag.
