Smile

As mentioned in a comment about Charlie Chaplin, he wrote a famous song. Actually Chaplin wrote the music and the words were added later by another writer, who used Chaplin as his inspiration. Here are the words:

Smile though your heart is aching
Smile even though it’s breaking
When there are clouds in the sky, you’ll get by
If you smile through your fear and sorrow
Smile and maybe tomorrow
You’ll see the sun come shining through for you

Light up your face with gladness
Hide every trace of sadness
Although a tear may be ever so near
That’s the time you must keep on trying

  1. The music was written in 1936 by Chaplin, and the lyrics were added in 1954.
Nat King Cole made the original song recording (and the best?), and it has also been recorded by loads of people including: Natalie Cole, Eric Clapton, Michael Jackson, Diana Ross and Judy Garland. (Thanks be to Wiki)
