A few days ago I went to a local clinic to visit a doctor. You can read more information in my blog post below.
The doctor was very good, and he told me that I only had a small injury, but he seemed to be disappointed that my problem wasn’t serious. Why?
I’m not sure but I think it’s because of money. In Japan, and many other countries, the doctors get more money from very sick and injured people. If everyone were healthy then the doctors would get no money. So the doctors are happy if we are sick. And if we are seriously sick they can get even more money.
If I had a serious injury then I would probably need to visit the doctor’s clinic once or twice a week for rehabilitation, maybe for 3 or 4 months, or more. Then he would make a lot money from me.
Of course I am sure most doctors are honest people (I hope so), but doctors are human, and not all humans are good and honest, so some of them may tell us we are sick when we are not.
I too don’t know why there are no General Practitioners or Family Doctors in Japan.
I suppose that my family had a Family Doctor when I was around 10 years old. And when I caught a cold or small something wrong, I sometimes visited the doctor. But, without notice, I don’t visit the doctor.
Why don’t I visit the doctor…..
Perhaps, because I think a cold will get well soon without examination and medicine. And I’m (was) not suffering a serious illness. However, I think we need Family Doctors.

I must admit that the very few doctors I consult do a great job. But do you know why there are no General Practitioners or Family Doctors in this country?
On a lighter note, I hope that my new blogs about sake, shochu and soon to come beer and spirits will contribute to the well-being of our doctors!

In response to R-G M’s comment, I don’t really know. All I can guess is that they have a stressful job, and they are always meeting sick people, which must be quite depressing. Does anyone have any other suggestions?
And thank you to Takayo for your comment, it is good to hear that doctors are always improving. Also congratulations to you, you have written the 200th comment on this blog!

Some doctors think so.
I suppose some doctors want to research or experiment real illness and injury. I also think all doctors are studying about illness from patient. And medicine is advancing day by day.
By the way I’m surprised when I heard you had visited a clinic. But now I feel relief that your injury isn’t serious.
Take care of yourself!!
