Keep off the grass (What grass?)

Well, there is some grass but not much. What a waste of time.

Suit of bees

Maybe she wore a dress made from raw meat, but I bet Lady Gaga would never wear a suit of bees.

This man in China is completely covered in real live bees. In fact there are 27kg of bees on his body. He will probably be coated in honey when they decide to fly away.

It’s more like a grey oblong than a red square, but Red Square in Moscow is huge.

Many people visit Lenin’s tomb, where the body of the first leader of the Soviet Union can be seen.

What a place to live! This is in Meteora, Greece, but it’s not a house, it is a monastery.

Rainbow toad

The rainbow toad hasn’t been seen by human eyes for about 90 years, but it was recently rediscovered in a jungle in Borneo. There has never been a colour photo until now.

English village

A lot of people are realising that village life has a few advantages over living in a city, and now that internet connection can be made almost everywhere it doesn’t feel so isolated as it once did.

South Sudan

Yesterday July 9th 2011 the world’s newest country was born:South Sudan. Here is its flag.

The capital city is Juba, and the official language is …… English.

But I think they should find a different name for their country, to fully distinguish it from the country of Sudan.

Machu Picchu 1911

It is now 100 years since the American academic Hiram Bingham brought the ruins of Machu Picchu to the attention of the world. They have now been cleared, and are celebrating 100 years since Bingham’s discovery, and are now considered one of the wonders of the world.

Today and tomorrow the final matches in this year’s Wimbledon tennis championships will be played.
